Getting The Club On Plane
Some thoughts and feelings involved in what I’m working on at the moment
James Parker is a PGA Qualified Golf Professional and Director of Instruction at Ethos Golf Performance in Allen, Texas. Contact him at James@JamesParkerGolf.com for lesson availability.
For me plane is an indicator of faulty swing technique not a cause. Ive seen players with perfect plane that cant hit the ball any distance
What I see in your swing and what I can relate to, as Im working hard on my swing, is how early you get your right side, especially your right hip area moving behind you towards the target, compared to the clubhead
In the past, and probably still a bit in the present I swayed and took the club away then got my right side moving and shifted weight behind the ball
Thanks for the comment Graham. You never want your weight shifting away from the target – only towards. But the pressure shifts from one foot to the other..
James love your swing lessons do you have any lessons on Chipping esp an action that will allow me to play the shot with confidence & not fear fluffing (hitting well behind the ball) nor chunking (skidding ball over the green) i am having trouble & just can’t determine what i am doing incorrectly.
