Should I deliberately try to hit UP with a Golf Driver swing?
This was a question I was recently asked by a student out in Los Angeles.
In the video below you’ll see why I strongly recommend you NEVER try and hit up with a driver.
Trying to hit up, even with a Driver in your hands, generally leads to hanging back on your right side and the club head releasing past your hands before you reach impact.
This is a killer move!
For 99.99% of you, the problem is the shaft ISN’T LEANING FORWARD ENOUGH AT IMPAC T. Trying to hit up will just make this problem worse.
Take a look at the Mobile Lesson I sent back to John in Los Angeles, and feel free to leave a comment below..
general comment….For a couple of weeks I have been looking at you and Shawn Clement and like the idea of weight staying forward as I swing. I have found in what you are teaching to be quite easy and successful at least on the range and looking forward to taking it to the course. I am hoping that you two are right. Feels right for me. Can u comment on Shawn and you ant difference?
Sorry jim, I’m not familiar with Sean. However, if he’s talking about the same things as me, I assure you we are are not the only two.
Just remember one of the golden rules: Swing your hands inward and hit out at the ball!
