Project Description

99% of amateur golfers have too much tension in their hands and arms during the swing. This tension can represent itself as fast, quick movements during the takeaway, backswing or downswing.

If you’ve ever watched tour pro’s on the range, many of them simply practice their swings slower than normal. This is of huge benefit, and a technique all can copy.

This drill also improves the awareness of body movements and feelings during the swing.

Key points:
– Hit a shot using 10% swing velocity
– Then hit a shot 20% swing velocity
– Increase velocity 10% each shot, until you reach 90%
– Don’t swing faster than 90% as it affects balance, timing and tempo
– Develop an understanding that the speed only significantly increases on the downswing
