Systems are used every day in every industry. Lawyers use systems to win cases. Doctors use a system to diagnose and treat patients. Manufacturers use systems in all parts of the production cycle. Libraries use the dewy decimal system to organize and classify books.
Systems to classify, organize, diagnose, and treat are part of everyday life.
The question should be, if you’re reading this blog..
Do you have a system to play the game?
If you visualized a shot cone before you hit every shot, how many times during your round of golf are you actually hitting the ball within that shot cone?
There’s your first system to play the game with..
James,
Thank you for you shot cone analysis. Why not hit every shot with the placed in line with the left heel. This it seems to me.is more effective in reaching the target. What amI missing? Sincerely Riccardo
Hi Ricardo,
The idea is to play the game while eliminating one side of the course. Sure, you want to eventually place the ball maybe just inside the lead heel. But I’d work up to that point.
The trouble is most golfers have a two way miss. Therefore the brain doesn’t know where the ball is going often enough. This then leads to non committal swings and a whole host of other issues show up.
This is simply a system to practice. Some people like systems, some don’t! That’s ok.. but I’d rather have a system that I can rely on under pressure when I have to hit a shot down the fairway or onto a specific part of the green.
